Cost per lead (CPL) is a billing model that measures the success of an advertising campaign on the basis of successfully received leads, i.e. the contact of potential buyers.
The billing model is used in online marketing and affiliate marketing, as it enables the contact to high-quality, potential customers to be gained.
Calculation of the CPL:
The CPL is calculated by comparing the total cost of the advertising campaign with the number of leads.
CPL = total cost / number of leads
In addition to the CPL, there are other, alternative billing models:
- Cost-per-click (CPC)
- Cost-per-order (CPO)
- Cost-per-sale (CPS)
- Cost-per-mille (CPM)
